The Oregon State Legislature established the Commission on Statewide Law Enforcement Standards of Conduct and Discipline (the "Commission") during in the 2021 legislative session. The purpose of the Commission is to establish standards of conduct and discipline so that law enforcement officials throughout the state will be subject to a uniform set of standards. The Commission brings together representatives with diverse experiences and areas of expertise to accomplish this purpose and is chaired by Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ). The Commission is meeting regularly to define the standards, solicit public input, and formally adopt the standards as administrative rules.
